Sharon is an energetic, motivating and highly skilled consultant specializing in Life Balance, corporate training programs and motivational speaking presentations. Her background includes more than 25 years of experience as an educator and clinician in all settings in which care is provided. She has taught around the country and across the globe, leading delegations of infusion nursing specialists to diverse countries.

Chief Wellness Officer, SMW Group LLC, Sharon truly leads the field. Author of over 154 peer-review manuscripts, her articles have been published in The Toronto Globe and Mail, The CEO Magazine, American Mobile, College Xpress, Sassy Moms, Southeast Asian Women’s Health, Reflections of Nursing Leadership, Big Choice Group, Lifestyle Entrepreneur, Remarkable Woman Magazine, the Sierra Club, Advance for Nurses, the Washington Post, Natural Awakenings, Crain’s Chicago Business, and the American Organization of Nurse Executive’s newsletter as well as multiple business publications. Sharon has appeared on local media, including NBC news and been quoted in newsletters and journal articles. She is a consummate blogger and a regular contributor to HuffPost. She is the author of 12 books, including B is for Balance...12 steps toward achieving work/life balance, and Plumer’s Principles and Practice of Infusion Nursing, 9th edition (2014). She is also the author of Nursing without Borders: values, wisdom, success markers, and numerous peer-review manuscripts.

Sharon has advised US healthcare organizations and schools on best practices in infusion therapy, Standards of Practice, and the need for caring environments that contribute to staff satisfaction, enhanced productivity, and patient safety. She is past President of the Infusion Nurses Society and past chair of the Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation Board of Directors. Sharon was a Standards Reviewer for the 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice.

She has recently been appointed to the American Academy of Nursing Health Behavior Expert Panel to address nursing work hours and related sleep health and workplace fatigue issues. Sharon is also a member of the American Nurses Association Nurse Fatigue Panel and a member of the Education Review Council for the American Holistic Nurses Association.

Dr. Christos Giannou

Dr. Christos Giannou was a Surgeon with the Palestine Red Crescent Society during the civil war in Lebanon where he founded several field hospitals. He was also Director and sole surgeon of the PRCS Hospital at the Shatila refugee camp, Beirut, during the War of the Camps. He then went on to work as a Field Surgeon for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Somalia, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Burundi and Chechnya. In 1995, he was Medical Coordinator of the ICRC campaign to ban anti-personnel landmines.

Dr. Giannou then served as Head Surgeon of the ICRC in Geneva from 1998 to 2005 with field missions to Sudan, DR Congo, Chad, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Chad, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and the DPR Korea amongst other favorite tourist spots.

Dr Giannou left his official post with the ICRC after 7 years as the head of Unit Surgery, and today carries out international surgical missions around the world on their behalf. He is the topic of the Cineflix film "On the Border of the Abyss" which covers his lifetime of work in helping less-fortunate people and in mastering the concepts of war surgery.

The documentary was aired, as "War Surgeon: Chris Giannou", by the Canadian public television station TVO on 10 April 2002. Recently, Giannou was the lead author on a new War Surgery book published by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Volume 1 of the book, called "War Surgery: Working with Limited Resources in Armed Conflict and Other Situations of Violence" is currently available on the ICRC website. He continues to inspire many to become war surgeons (such as FTH).

Dr. Seboni obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Botswana and Swaziland, Master’s Degree at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York and her PhD at University of California in San Francisco (UCSF).

She taught several courses at the School of Nursing at the University of Botswana, namely Adult Health Nursing, Adolescent Health Care and Development, Theories of Nursing and Curriculum Development and Instruction.

Her areas of research and publications are adolescent sexuality and risk-taking behaviours, Adolescents living with HIV/AIDS, family and self-care symptom management strategies for people living with HIV/AIDS and Home Based Care.

Dr Seboni is actively involved in professional service. She is the former President of the Nurses Association of Botswana, former member of ICN Council of National Representatives; member of STTI, where she served in ARISTA 3, Leadership Advisory Council and Service Advisory Council. She is a founder member of STTI African Chapter –Tau Lambda at large Chapter, and is its immediate past President.

She also serves as a volunteer for International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) at national, regional and international levels, currently she is a member of IPPF international governing council. Dr. Seboni served as a consultant and technical support for several international organization, namely UNICEF, UNFPA, PATH and WHO. At WHO she was part of the team that developed the strategic plan for nursing and Midwifery development in Africa, and also participated in WHO Regional workshops that addressed the issue of migration of nurses and the plans for scaling up nurses and midwives training in the WHO African Region.

Patti Ludwig-Beymer Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Edward Hospital, is the winner of the 2013 Greater Chicago Nurse.com Nursing Excellence Award in the category of Advancing and Leading the Profession.

Winners and nominees were honored at the Nurse.com Nursing Excellence GEM Award Ceremony May 10 at the Chicago Marriott in Schaumburg.

The winner in the Advancing and Leading the Profession category is defined as: An RN who is well-known and respected as a visionary, innovative leader and change agent, who moves the profession forward through work in patient care administration, education or research, or strengthens it through other professional activities, endeavors or contributions.

Ludwig-Beymer advances to compete against other regional winners. A national winner will be named later this year.

Edward is one of only three hospitals in DuPage County and the only one serving Will County to be designated a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Edward was re-designated in 2010 after receiving its original designation in 2005. Only six percent of the nation’s 6,000 hospitals are recognized as Magnet facilities; only two percent have achieved Magnet re-designation.

Raquel Z. Tejada is currently working as NURSE V/ECU Coordinator at Philippine Heart Center. She was part of the group who started the Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines (RENAP) a specialty organization for Renal Nurses that partner with the different government and private agencies and with other Nursing Professional Organization. She had the privilege of speaking to thousands of nurses around Philippines and made some research work.

Complementing her work in the government was her active involvement in the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) Free Clinic and Medical Mission, the Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines (RENAP) Outreach Program as well as in the Proclaimers of the Word Ministry in their Parish.

Her involvement in church and other organizations has been a tremendous source of learning about how to share and deploy her God- given talent with the fellow human beings.

Once armed with a nursing degree she entered Government Service at age 21, in the early 1980’s. She spent 26 happy years taking care of patients, mentoring, coaching and developing renal nurses in a hemodialysis unit.

Dr. Jean Watson is Distinguished Professor and Dean Emerita, University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing Anschutz Medical Center campus, where she held the nation’s first endowed Chair in Caring Science for 16 years. She is founder of the original Center for Human Caring in Colorado and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing; past President of the National League for Nursing; founding member of International Association in Human Caring and International Caritas Consortium. She is Founder and Director of non-profit foundation, Watson Caring Science Institute.

Dr. Watson has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and psychiatricmental health nursing and holds her PhD in educational psychology and counseling. She is a widely published author and recipient of many awards and honors, including The Fetzer Institute Norman Cousins Award, in recognition of her commitment to developing, maintaining and exemplifying relationship-centered care practices; an international Kellogg Fellowship in Australia, a Fulbright Research Award in Sweden. The Hildebrand Center for Compassion in Medicine Award Notre Dame University; Academy Integrative Medicine and Healing Award for pioneering work in Caring Science; Japanese International Society of Caring and Peace Chair.

She holds thirteen (13) Honorary Doctoral Degrees, including 10 International Honorary Doctorates (Sweden, United Kingdom, (2) Spain, British Colombia and Quebec, Canada, Japan, Turkey, Peru

Alie Eleveld

Alie Eleveld is Country Director with Safe Water and AIDS Project in Western Kenya since its start in 2005. She at the same time serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors.

Alie was born in the Netherlands. After Primary and Secondary School she went to Nursing School and qualified as a registered and pediatric Nurse doing most of her practical’s in a children’s hospital in the Hague. She further specialized in Tropical Medicine at the Institute for Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium.

In 1984 she left for Zambia and initially worked as a Primary Health Care Coordinator in a rural Hospital setting up immunization programs and providing health care for refugees from Mozambique. She then was transferred to a nearby referral hospital and worked as the AIDS Coordinator setting up a comprehensive program of counseling, home based care, training of counselors, STI and TB clinics, theatre performances in the community among others.

After 11 years Zambia Alie did short contracts and consultancies in Congo, Southern Sudan, Nairobi and Lamu in Kenya. In 1996 she worked for one year in a development organization in Rotterdam in the Netherlands handling incoming proposals for the health desk of Eastern Africa.

Nicola Anne Fouche is senior Lecturer (full-time) in the Division of Nursing & Midwifery, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town. Full responsibility for designing, convening and teaching of 3 semester modules and 2 half courses including all clinical teaching, clinical accompaniment, supervision and evaluation of students undertaking the Critical Care Nursing (General) Pathway. This requires liaising with all external lecturers and convenors, administration of marks, fieldwork, external examiners etc.

Designing a Clinical Master’s Degree for Critical Care Nursing (Generic). Part of the Nursing Academic team in re-structuring the ‘new’ Postgraduate Diploma in nursing cross disciplinary teaching within the School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences for Speech and Communication Sciences Disorders, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition & Dietetics.

Nesrin N. Abu-Baker is a chairperson and an Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Mental Health Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at the Faculty of Nursing and has supervised many master theses. She was a faculty member and a program coordinator in Fatima College, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

She received her BSN from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and her MSN and PhD from University of Cincinnati, USA. She has publications relating to public health and women’s health in international journals and she has attended many international workshops and conferences.

In 2002, she completed the Department of Nursing at Ege University Izmir Atatürk Health School, İzmir, Turkey. In the third year of the training, Hacettepe University, Ministry of Health and Ege University, İzmir Atatürk Health School, participated in the JHPIEGO project and received Family Planning Consultancy and RIA Implementation Education Participation Certificate for four months. In 2002, she started to work in intensive care unit at the Ege University Hospital Gastroenterology Clinic and she worked as an educational nurse for eight months. She started her master's degree in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Dokuz Eylül University School of Nursing, in 2005.

Between the years 2005-2006 she worked at the Adnan Menderes University Practice and Research Hospital in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesiology Intensive Care clinics. She started her doctoral education at the Women's Health and Diseases Nursing Department, Ege University Nursing of School as part of Faculty Member Training Program started in 2006. She started to work as an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing at Söke School of Health of Adnan Menderes University in 2012.

Since 2015, she has been serving as Adnan Menderes University Vocational School Vocational School Vocational School and Adnan Menderes University Vocational School Vocational Coordinator since 2015. Since 2015, he has been working as Adnan Menderes University Soke Health Services Vocational School Manager and Adnan Menderes University Vocational Schools Assistant Coordinator.

She has published 35 papers in reputed journals and oral or poster presentations more than 60 at national or international congress/conferences. She has been serving as a reviewer and an editorial board member of repute. She has done translation editing also of named book“Supporting Sucking Skills in Breastfeeding Infants”

Prof. Füsun Terzioğlu

Prof. Fusun Terzioglu graduated in first place from Hacettepe University in 1989. She won the İhsan Dogramacı Superior Merit Award and Science Incentive Award. She earned her pilot’s license from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport. She studied about counseling on assisted reproductive techniques at Liverpool Women’s Hospital Reproductive Medicine Unit in United Kingdom on the British Council Research Scholarship.

She earned a certificate in management and leadership in nursing. She is an active member of Thematic Network leadership work group. She studied as a research scholar at Kent State University College of Nursing in 2006 for 3 months. In 2007, she worked on a project named “Development of Leadership Skills in Nursing Doctoral Students” at University of Michigan Faculty of Nursing on an international research scholarship which was supported by International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing (INDEN) and Sigma Theta Tau and provided to only three people around the world every year.

She worked as a research assistant at Hacettepe University School of Nursing in the Maternity and Women's Health Nursing Division from 1990 to 1997. She was promoted to assistant professor in 1998, associate professor in 2006 and professor in 2012. She worked as a Co-Head of Nursing Department, Erasmus Department Coordinator, Head of Strategic Planning Group and board member of Hacettepe University Women’s Research and Implementation Center (HUWRICH) between 2009 and 2011. Her interest subjects are sexuality and reproductive health and management and leadership.

She is member of national and international nurse’s organizations such as INDEN and Sigma Theta Tau. She has been working as a Director of Nursing Services at Hacettepe University Hospitals between 2012-2016 and Founding Dean of Faculty of Nursing. She has published more than 70 papers, 15 grant projects, eight books as an editor and author, and more than 100 presentation in the national and international congress. She is also invited speaker more than 60 congress and symposium.

She has working as a Dean Faculty of Health Science and Director of Nursing of MLPCare.
