She is a senior researcher, in the College of Medicine, King Saud University; she has published 17 papers in reputable journals and has been serving as master degree students' supervisor for the consecutive two years, as well as a peer reviewer in a reputed journal.

Dr. Hajifaraji has completed his Ph.D. in nutrition from KCL. He is a Research Associate Prof. and has been Director of National Nutrition and Food Technology Research Institute of Iran and Dean of School of Nutrition and Food Technology at Shahid Beheshti Univ. of Medical Sciences from 2010- 2015 and President of Iranian Nutrition Society (INS) from 2011- 2015.

Professor Lakshman is currently the Director of Research Laboratories and the Chief of Lipid Research at the VA Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He also has joint appointments as a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology as well as in the Department of Medicine, the George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
He directs studies in the areas of Alcoholism, Alcoholic Liver Disease, Oxidative Stress, Coronary Artery Disease, Lipids & Lipoproteins, Metabolic & Genetic Obesity, Hepatotoxins, Gene Regulation & Expression.
Professor Lakshman had the privilege of extensive post-doctoral training with world-renowned scientists like Keith Murray. National Research Council, Canada, James Olson, Rockefeller Foundation, John Porter and Henry Lardy, the University of Wisconsin before joined the National Institute of Health, to work on Alcoholic Hyperlipidemia under the able guidance of Professors Richard Veech and Nobel Laureate, Hans Krebs.
In 1979, he received the prestigious VA Research Career Scientist Award working in the field of Alcohol and Alcoholism at the VA Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
He was honoured the “Washington Heart Ball” Research Award in 1990 in the field of Hyperlipidemia.

He is head of the biggest Centre of Obesity Surgery in Germany - The Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch. Has published more than 37 papers in reputed journals and performed more than 500 presentations. The Humboldt University of Berlin nominated him as professor of surgery in 1997. In 2006 he started bariatric surgery, which then became the focus of his work. He has completed his PhD at the age of 27. Within 15 years he became a general, visceral, orthopaedic and vascular surgeon and specialist in surgery; trauma; vascular surgery.
Dr Myriam Abboud
Myriam is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian/Nutritionist and is currently an Assistant Professor at Zayed University, UAE and her research focus on investigating the link between vitamin D and non-communicable diseases. She has published several papers in reputable journals.
She has completed her PhD from the University of Sydney-School of Medicine, and her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Sydney. She started her career in Australia where she founded her nutrition clinic specializing in Obesity and Diabetes management and offered nutrition and wellness counselling to individuals and corporations.

Altaf A. Wani, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Radiology and the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at Ohio State University (OSU). He is a member of Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention program of the James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute. Dr. Wani is the Director of Molecular Carcinogenesis Laboratory and conducts Basic Cancer research in the area of DNA damage and repair.
He is a Graduate Studies Committee member of the Ohio State Biochemistry Program and member of the Integrated Biomedical Graduate Program. He serves on the Appointments, Tenure and Promotion Committee of the OSU College of Medicine and Public Health. He represents his department at the University Faculty Council and Senate.

Director of the Sylvan Adams Sports Institute, Tel Aviv University. Until recently, he was the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He was also the founder and the director of the Biomedical Technology Innovation Program (BioMedTech) @ Tel Aviv University.
Besides, he is the Head of Siim Campus for Coaches and Instructors at Tel Aviv University Sports Center. Member of the European Network for Health-Enhancing Physical Activity, World Health Organization. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and served as a Member of the EIM (Exercise is Medicine) Educational Committee. In the past, he was also a committee member of the Israel Society of Sports Medicine; the National Council for Health Promotion; the National Council for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases; and Healthy Israeli 2020 Initiative, Israeli Ministry of Health. He has supervised more than 50 graduate students toward masters and PhD degree and published over 85 professional manuscripts, book chapters, and presented over 120 scientific abstracts in national and international meetings. President of the 8th Asia-Pacific Congress on Sports Technology, held in October 2017, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Her companies employ several platforms under laboratory conditions to detect single nucleotide polymorphisms, the most common type of genetic variation among people.

Prof Asma Deeb
Chief of Paediatric Endocrinology

Secretary-General of the Arab Society of Paediatric Endocrinology(ASPED) & Diabetes
She is the chief of Paediatric Endocrinology at Mafraq hospital, Abudhabi and a clinical professor at the Gulf University, UAE. She is the Secretary General of the Arab Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ASPED) and Diabetes, the ASPED representative of the Global Pediatric Endocrinology Association (GPED). She is the chair of communication of the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and an advisory board member of the International Society of the Adolescent and Pediatric Diabetes (ISPAD).
She hosted multiple endocrine and diabetes courses for young endocrinologists in collaboration with an international endocrine organization. Of those, she organized a yearly postgraduate diabetes course with ISPAD since 2015. She trained in the United Kingdom and had an MD degree on Growth Hormone Gene Expression from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002.
She relocated to the UAE in 2006 where she founded a tertiary Paediatric Endocrine Department in Mafraq hospital, one of the biggest hospitals in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Prof Deeb has a particular interest in monogenic diabetes and the use of technology in the treatment of diabetes. She has the various publication in peer-review journals.
Prof Mohammed A. Gomaa
Professor of Otorhinolaryngology
Professor of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine, Minia University, Egypt. Research fellow at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center from 1996 to 1998, working on head and neck cancer.
Member of American Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery since 1999 and now serving on Diversity committee. Has published 25 articles and another 10 now under publication, many of them at international Journal with impact factors.
His h-index is 7 and has his papers cited in 163 articles so far. Has present a lot of his work at highly ranked International conferences in the USA, Europe, Dubai, and Egypt.

He is the first surgeon in the country to perform Robotic Duodenal Switch.
Dr Mohit Bhandari is a Bariatric, Metabolic and Robotic surgeon based out of Indore, India. He has the rare distinction of performing the highest number of bariatric and metabolic procedures in Asia Pacific region. Till date, Dr. Mohit has delivered more than 9000 bariatric procedures. He has been the pioneer in starting Robotic Bariatric surgery in the country and was the first surgeon in the country to perform Robotic Duodenal Switch. He is the founder and director of Mohak Bariatrics and Robotics, a dedicated Bariatric and Robotic Surgery Hospital. He is also an Endoluminal weight loss specialist and is credited with performing one of the first Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty in the Asian subcontinent.
Dr Bhandari’s centre has been declared Ranked one weight loss surgery centre by Times of India, 3IC Research Consultants audit for three successive years in a row. He features into Limca book of records for performing highest number of bariatric procedures done at a Single Centre by a Single Surgeon, 25 cases in 11 hours’ time. He has also pioneered the most extensive series of single-incision weight loss procedures ranging beyond 1500.
Dr Walee Chamulitrat
She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Houston, Texas, USA and did her Postdoctoral research at US Department of Agriculture, Philadelphia, and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health, North Carolina, USA.
After Assistant and Associate Professorships at Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, USA, she moved to Germany and took research positions at the German Research Cancer Center, and presently Internal Medicine IV, University Hospital Heidelberg. She has published 76 papers and 9 book/symposium chapters.
Prof. Flemming Dela

His main interest is metabolic and cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology, including adaptations to changes in lifestyle in healthy people and in patients (COPD; type 2 diabetes, heart failure, obesity). He uses combinations of intervention studies and human physiological experiments using state-of-the-art invasive and non-invasive methods (a-v catheterization, clamp, exercise, ultrasound Doppler, plethysmography, metabolic rate etc.) Clinically his main research area is within physical activity and metabolism, diabetes, ageing, sarcopenia, frailty and medication for the elderly.
Dr. Helmut BrathHead of the Diabetes Outpatient Clinic at Health Centre South in Vienna, Austria
Specialist in internal medicine with more than 20 years of experience in the treatment of Diabetes. He was the founder of the first smoking cessation clinic for people with diabetes in Austria. Having published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers, he is also a member of the Austrian national guidelines commissions as well as an internationally recognized expert with scientific lectures given in over 30 countries. Recently he served as the first secretary of the Austrian Diabetes Association.
Professor Steen Larsen
Steen Larsen achieved his Doctoral degree in 2014 from the University of Copenhagen focussing on mitochondrial physiology in human skeletal muscle. He is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, besides that he is also a visiting Professor at the Medical University of Bialystok in Poland.
He has published around 50 papers in reputed journals. His research focus is on mitochondrial function in human skeletal muscle. Recently he has been investigating the side-effects seen with statin treatment.

Dr. Vineeta Sharma is the Principal Consultant at Xpedite Pharma Solutions. Xpedite is a life sciences consulting company dedicated to providing regulatory, clinical data management and scientific writing support to advance treatment for diabetes, cancer and other metabolic disorders. Dr. Sharma holds a PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi and postdoctoral training from the University of Michigan and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of metabolic disorders, obesity, diabetes, haematology and gene therapy.
Over the years her research was mainly focused on metabolic disorders, gene therapy and biomarker discovery. Additionally, Dr. Sharma has also worked in startups, mid-size and fortune 500 companies, and in the areas of R&D, project management, product development, business development, regulatory affairs and clinical trial management. She is an advisor and board of director of life sciences startups.
